Job Summary

The Team Member Relations Manager is a key member of our centralized team member relations team responsible for the proper and timely handling of escalated team member relations cases. This role will conduct investigations and manage cases to ensure the consistent application of personnel policies and procedures across the organization. The Team Member Relations manager will provide advice and counsel on complex team member relations issues to team members and managers in a wide variety of areas including, but not limited to: performance management, conflict resolution, general employment policy interpretation, and complex investigations regarding unlawful behavior involving great risk to organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team Member Relations

  • Partner with appropriate HR business partners when conducting larger and all big 5 investigations, to include detailed interviews, fact finding, and providing recommendations to HR and business leaders on appropriate actions/response.

  • Effectively manage assigned employee relations cases from intake to resolution while ensuring that team members are treated fairly and with respect, and that cases are investigated and brought to resolution in a timely manner.

  • Apply independent judgment when providing guidance and mediation to team members and managers in the resolution of work related issues and inquiries.

  • Act as a trusted resource and consult with management regarding interpretation and administration of human resource policies, programs, procedures and compliance with applicable state/federal statutes and regulations.

  • Provide comprehensive expert advice to business leaders on a high volume of ER cases covering all aspects of employment relationships while ensuring consistent application of our policies, performance management, discipline programs, and the law.

  • Independently reviews, edits, and approves team member disciplinary actions.

  • Consult with in house employment attorneys as needed to ensure compliance and consistent interpretation of relevant laws and regulations.

  • Identify macro trends and themes as it relates to team member relations cases and concerns and create, recommend and influence leadership through a variety of corrective steps to resolve.

  • Load and track all case related documents and communication in the case management system.

  • Prepare and maintain investigation documentation.

  • Knowledge of effective HR practices, methods and processes in employment law and team member relations.

  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and requirements related to HR including ERISA, EEO, LOAs, ADA, Workers' Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour and others.

  • Demonstrated skill and ability to conduct and resolve basic and complex professional investigations and develop sound, reasonable conclusions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Technical ability to include the use of and a wide array of HR systems from a user and admin perspective.

  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to calmly manage multiple conflicting priorities and effectively work with people in a fast paced environment.

Identify and ensure the appropriate tools and processes are in place for leaders and support partners to support the consistent application of Team Member Relations procedures in compliance with regulations and company standards.


Edit, draft and track team members and company communication during the course of case resolution.

This position works closely with club leadership, and reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Team Member Relations. Maintains day-to-day team member relations between managers and team members. This position works effectively with both corporate and field positions, including but not limited to Compensation, Benefits, HRSS, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Facilities, and Loss Prevention.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Minimum Educational Level

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

Minimum Work Experience

Minimum of five years of experience in a Human Resources role with experience in associate relations, investigations, and performance management.
