JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Field/BU Financial Analyst or Manager is primarily responsible for conducting financial and strategic analysis, and presenting findings to support the financial results for the Club, District, Region, business leaders as well as the overall company. This position works on the annual financial budgets, completes weekly financial forecasts, and interfaces with senior management, business leaders, and the Finance Director in the process of completing these deliverables. This position is also a finance business partner to the Club, District and Regional management teams as well as operations business leaders. This position may also process work related to project management and/or participate in continuous improvement around internal process management and tools to enhance department capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Estimated % of Time Spent

  1. Planning and Analysis
  • Develop and maintain financial models for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting of the company's financial metrics for the clubs as well as fitness and club operations.

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers within assigned area of support and communicate findings to management and business partners.

  • Perform month-end close variance analysis to budget and forecast, identify trends and communicate results and/or findings to senior management.

  • Support Business and Finance Directors with data sourcing, model building, and club-allocation methodologies in assigned area of responsibility.

  • Facilitate communication with business owners, including senior executives, to ensure development of a comprehensive plan that incorporates forecasting needs, financial and operating performance, and company/departmental goals and priorities.

  1. Special Projects
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis in supported area as directed by the Financial Planning and Analysis management and on business partners' request.

  • Participate in special projects targeted at improvement of internal or partner focused processes and business performance.

  • Analyze financial information for projects, including review of historical data as well as forecasting future results.

  • Present and assist in presentation of business cases, insights, and recommendations generated from historical financial results and analysis.

  • Support analysis related to new product introduction or changes in the existing product/mix portfolio, translating and summarizing Profit and Loss impact findings and results.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

The Senior Field/BU Financial Analyst or Manager reports to the Director of BU/Field finance. This position is in regular contact with department heads and other budget owners. Additionally, there will be daily interaction with both the Finance and Accounting teams. The manager position may have direct reports in the future.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong finance and accounting background.

  • Good research skills.

  • Intensive financial modeling experience.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate initiation in problem solving, and ability to work autonomously.

  • Proficient in MS Office products with special emphasis on mastery of Excel and financial modeling.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Focus in finance or accounting is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of work experience in financial analysis, M&A, investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, or a related field.

  • Project management experience.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.

  • Regularly required to work standard office equipment (personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).

  • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.

  • Close vision required for computer usage.

  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 20 pounds.

Travel Requirement

  • Corporate based position with no travel required.

  • Knowledge of Project management tools.

Educational Level/Certifications

  • MBA in Finance or Accounting.

  • Project Management certification.

Work Experience and Qualification

  • Experience in multi-unit retail environment.
