The Sr. Director, Club Fitness Experience is responsible for developing and managing the infrastructure to effectively implement the company's strategic Fitness plans. This position works collaboratively with corporate and field partners and oversees product line implementation.


Estimated % of Role

Fitness Management

  • Responsible for the successful execution and development of the fitness strategy aligned with the needs of the regions, while remaining consistent with company-wide initiatives.

  • Effective articulation, ensuring consistent execution of business strategies and initiatives to create understanding and alignment.

  • Works collaboratively with corporate and field leadership to implement, manage and maximize product curriculum for fitness.

  • Manages strategic transition from concept to practical implementation, addressing any issues that arise with implement or management of programs.

  • Owns rollout and execution of new fitness test/pilots and determines viability to full scale implementation.

  • Creates recommendations for corporate fitness team initiatives based on the needs of the clubs. Prioritizes needs to determine sequencing of initiatives.

  • Responsible for fitness financial performance including and not limited to club operating profit (COP) and EBIDTA.


Fitness Operations

  • Ensure cost effective execution of Fitness operations, labor management, marketing, sales and project management.

  • Provide input and perspective on new products and services related to Fitness programming.

  • Provides input on current and other potential certifications for content and alignment with organizational fitness strategy, determining their value as approved qualifications and recommending and managing execution of company --wide certification process.

  • Partners with corporate fitness team in developing fitness programs, presentation / workshop materials for program rollouts.

  • Leads direct report team of field regional fitness leaders and support team.



  • Co-create and manage reporting to determine / monitor health of fitness offerings.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as needed.





Reports to the VP, Club Operations. Manages a team of regional fitness managers and fitness coordinator. This position manages business relationships with other corporate and field departments. Interacts with club and corporate team members.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

§ Strong knowledge of fitness business and practices.

§ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

§ Strong written and oral communication skills.

§ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.

§ Ability to manage multiple priorities and independent projects, resourcefulness and the ability to meet concurrent deadlines

§ Ability to influence others who do not directly report to this position.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

§ Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

§ 10+ years of experience in progressive operations or fitness management.

§ Experience with product growth and optimization strategies.

§ Experience managing product implementation process.

§ Experience with project management.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

§ May be required to work at a computer or on the phone for extended periods.

§ Regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally sand and walk.

Travel Requirement

  • Potential travel requirements to clubs and regional offices up to 35% of the time.
