JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, the Sr. Specialist, Digital Communications helps drive digital strategy and execution for a variety of internal communication initiatives that promote team member engagement and align to the company's broader business objectives. This position will oversee content and engagement strategy for the company's intranet and is responsible for helping turn this platform into a thriving online community where team members can always access timely, relevant, and compelling content as well as feel connected to our company's mission, strategy, leadership team, and each other. Support other key internal communication efforts including, but not limited to, graphic design and video production as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Estimated % of Time Spent

Intranet Content Strategy / Management

  • Create and execute an online community strategy for the company's intranet (My24) that takes a "story-telling" approach to company news, promotes two-way dialogue, reinforces the company's unique culture, and drives team member engagement within the platform.

  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar of fresh, relevant, and compelling content that informs and inspires team members, as well as underscores the company's mission, vision, and values.

  • Establish "push and pull" process for sourcing homepage content including mobilizing a community of regular content contributors and rolling out a clear set of content submission guidelines. Create, write, and edit content for My24 as needed.

  • Partner with functional leaders to design, develop, and deploy business-specific intranet pages that are aligned with brand image, strategy, and direction as needed.

  • Build "self-service" content creation and publishing capability throughout the organization with goal of getting more functional leaders and content contributors trained on how to maximize content (copywriting/headline writing, image usage, tagging etc.) and update their business-specific pages within the platform. This includes holding related workshops and drop-in training sessions, sharing best practices more broadly, and creating a "how-to" page within the platform that supports this goal.

  • Maintain consistent editorial voice and standards on homepage and all business-specific pages.

  • Establish key usage metrics that measure the intranet's effectiveness in driving team member engagement. Regularly track, analyze, and report out on usage metrics, as well as use the insights from this data to continually improve engagement on the site.

  • Evolve the intranet's structure, functionality, look, and feel to ensure its overall effectiveness in supporting media-rich content, enabling two-way dialogue, and access from both users' desktops and mobile devices. As part of this, identify and evaluate alternative intranet platforms that meet these goals and then build and lead execution of project/migration plan in support of new technologies and "best-in-class" experience. 60%

Graphic Design / Video Production

  • Help storyboard and provide graphic design support on internal PowerPoint presentations for company-wide meetings, meeting cascades, and senior leadership requests as needed.

  • Provide graphic design support for other internal communication vehicles (company intranet, company newsletter, etc.).

  • Film, edit, and produce video content for internal use including, but not limited to, leadership video messages, team member spotlights, and "man-on-the-street interviews.

  • Help define and contribute to our internal brand's visual identity. 20%

Business Partner Communication

  • Cultivate effective, strategic relationships with business partners (Field Divisions, HR, Real Estate, Fitness, Retail, and Operations) throughout the organization.

  • Provide counsel on digital communication strategy, tactics, and timing to maximize message and vehicle effectiveness to target audiences. 20%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A self-starter with exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proven experience in driving effective employee engagement strategies, with a focus on developing compelling content for digital landscapes (both desktop and mobile), presentations, and video.

  • Creative with an eye for design and layout of visually appealing content.

  • Team player with strong relationship-building and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Technologically savvy and interested in the application of technology to improve business results.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

  • Strong project management skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Quick-learner with problem-solving ability who can work well under pressure with ever-changing deadlines.

  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task with ease.

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Communications.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of previous internal communications, journalism, or public relations experience.

  • Experience with current intranet platform (Rhythmyx) or similar tool.
