The Manager of Club Labor is a key member of the Club Operations team providing day to day management of the 24 Hour Fitness reporting and education on Club Labor expenses. In this role the individual will be touchpoint for the field team and support with all aspects of managing and understanding club labor spend. Position will be responsible for education and skill-set development amongst field leadership and club management. This position is responsible for leading and managing a team, that provides all existing and ad-hoc reporting as well as provide weekly and ad-hoc forecasting of expense.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Estimated % of Time Spent
- 1. Reporting and Analytics
Create annual controllable labor budget models for the key club positions, in partnership with field leadership teams
Address reporting needs of the field through weekly and ad-hoc labor reporting created by a team of analysts
Deliver a weekly forecast of labor expenses to the senior leadership team
- 2. Field Education and Skill Development
Create field labor management tools and training materials in partnership with L&D
Respond and address field inquiries regarding labor spend and budgets
Spend time in the field with GMs and DMs educating on proper scheduling and labor management practices
- 3. Operating Process and Procedure
Create and maintain all standard operating processes for managing club labor expense
Development of scheduling tools for sales and operations team members as well as club management
Business owner of all existing and new scheduling tools and systems
4. Team Management
Hire, train, and manage a team of analyst to perform labor management duties.
Develop team skill level through identification of development opportunities and design monthly plan to ensure team growth.
Provide regular feedback on day-to-day performance, proactively addressing any issues or concerns. Conduct mid-year and year-end formal performance appraisals following company practices and policies.
The Manager of Club Labor interfaces frequently with corporate and field management as well as key functional business owners. Additionally, there is daily interaction with the Finance, Accounting, and field teams. This position has multiple analyst direct reports
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Hands on experience with the application and development of scheduling methodologies and budget development
Hands on business analytics, experience with a multi-unit retailer with a high comfort level working with data
Strong written and verbal communication required. The ability to form and communicate a strong point of view on a data approach based on usability and data integrity.
Strong leadership capabilities and strong communication skills to be able to articulate both strategic direction and tactical action steps for subordinates.
Ability to prioritize work and resources, keeping business objectives at the forefront of the decision making process.
Track record of building consensus between a variety of stakeholders.
Critical strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience in managing and leading teams (internal and external).

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree (economics, accounting, data analytics,, operational research, or other relevant majors).
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
2+ years working in a single or multi-unit leadership role with responsibilities over scheduling and labor management
Progressive experience working in business analytics, accounting, business intelligence, or related area.
Experience working with multi-dimensional, relational data warehouses in data mining transactional data for insights and strategies to drive the business.
Experience working with 3 rd party vendors/agencies.
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions
Some work is performed in a standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.
Regularly required to work standard office equipment (personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk
- Potential travel requirements to clubs and regional offices -- up to 30% of time
