GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director Fitness Operations, the Fitness Analyst is primarily responsible for preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports while formulating detailed analyses summarizing club performance in key performance indicators. The Fitness Analyst will familiarize themselves with operating procedures and policies in the clubs so they can effectively analyze opportunities in club performance and provide recommended solutions through data driven decision making. The Fitness Analyst provides insights and results to the leadership team supporting key business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analysis (40%)

  • Analyze key performance indicators and develop outlier reporting to support improvement in achievement of company objectives.

  • Analyze areas of opportunities to modify existing club process and capitalize on untapped revenue opportunities and expense optimization.

  • Take results and create executive summaries targeting change initiatives aimed at improving the member experience and/or company revenue goals.

  • Support in the development and implementation of data and analytics to support fitness programs.

  • Gathers and interprets fitness data and provides recommendations to improve quality and efficiency of fitness programs and process.

Reporting (40%)

  • Produce and run standardized daily, weekly monthly reports.

  • Load and maintain accurate data within the primary field reporting system.

  • Ensure data accuracy.

  • Modify reports as business requirements change.

  • Make recommendations for improvements to insure accuracy of internal processes and increase efficiencies in reporting.

  • Convert manual excel reporting into Microsoft Access to create efficiencies where applicable.

  • Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as assigned.

Field Support and Projects (20%)

  • Work with field and club leadership to understand processes and policies within fitness operations.

  • Support in identification of reporting needs based on changes to the business and implementation/development of reporting solutions

  • Develop outlier reporting to help field leadership focus efforts on correcting business opportunities in the areas that provide the greatest return.

  • Support the field by responding to field inquiries.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: The Fitness Analyst reports to the Director Fitness Operations as part of the Fitness Operations team and has regular interaction with a cross-functional team within and outside of the organization. This position does not have any direct reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including v-look up formulas, complex macros, and the ability to modify through VBA.

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Access skills including creation of new databases, importing data from other applications and developing complex queries.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, make decisions within the scope of authority and to recommend effective action.

  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Intermediate experience in other Microsoft software, e.g., Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of CRM and database applications.

  • Skills in exercising resourcefulness in meeting and resolving problems.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.

  • Ability to use initiative and sound independent judgment in the course of undertaking assigned responsibilities.

  • Ability to speak and write effectively including preparation of clear concise records and reports.

  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish.

  • Extended working days and some weekend work may be required.

  • Requires extended hours of computer work.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

2) Minimum certifications/educational level:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college in Business, or equivalent experience.

3) Minimum experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in analytics.

  • Intermediate skills in Excel.

  • Process improvement experience a plus

4) Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit and work on a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work extended hours on occasion.

  • Regularly required to work standard office equipment (personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.)
