We are looking for an experienced Sr Java Programmer with the ability to develop high value solutions for our business customers. The candidate will be expected to understand business needs and translate them to solutions, conforming to our architectural guidelines. Requires a high degree of creative thinking and the ability to use the accumulated knowledge and experience of others. The candidate should also be team-oriented, effective in mentoring others, respectful with team member interactions, and courageous to act.

Responsibilities

  • Develop applications using Java, JSP, HTML5, Open Source Frameworks and SQL databases.

  • Develop web services exposing as REST or Soap services.

  • Develop BPM processes for integrating applications.

  • Enhance existing services, applications and extensions to applications.

  • Troubleshoot defects and identify the appropriate change to fix the issue.

  • Develop unit tests for all code created.

  • Deploy code changes to development environment(s) for testing and coordinate the deployment to appropriate environments.

  • Review code developed by team members to ensure adherence to technical specifications and operational standards, and provide feedback on improvements.

  • Maintain existing applications to ensure high performance and high availability.

  • Take ownership of tasks, making effective use of collaboration to drive them to completion.

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with other team members on items in progress or completed.

  • Raise any impediments that cannot be resolved by the team.

  • Create and/or update standards documents and/or technical documents.

  • Develop solutions with a team using Scrum/Agile methodologies.

  • Mentor junior team members on best practices and company standards.

  • Cultivate working relationships at all levels of the organization and outside vendors.

  • Stay current with industry trends.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working with Java technologies.

  • 3+ year experience working with Web technologies.

  • Proficient in Java EE 6 and 7 (CDI, EJB3, JMS).

  • Proficient in Java SE 8

  • Good working knowledge of Java EE Containers (JBoss EAP, Wildfly).

  • Experience with JavaScript/JQuery/HTML5.

  • Experience with BPM Process Modeling, Camunda BPM Platform preferred.

  • Experience with XSLT XML Transformation and JSON Transformation.

  • Experience with in-memory data grids, Apache Ignite platform preferred.

  • Experience with Apache Struts 2, Spring MVC, Java Servlet 3 API.

  • Experience with SQL databases (Oracle or SQL Server preferred).

  • Experience with mock objects for unit testing (Junit, PowerMock).

  • Good working knowledge of Maven build tools and Continuous Integration tools.

  • Good working knowledge of software version control systems (GIT, SVN).
